Saskatoon Aikikai Seminar: Nov 13th-15th, 2015
Saskatoon Aikikai is pleased to announce the upcoming seminar. It will be a great opportunity to learn more and hone our skills.
George Hewson Sensei brings great technique and a wealth of knowledge about Japanese history and culture. He teaches Japanese history at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. George Sensei has attended seminars with many famous Aikido teachers. He developed a close relationship with Kawahara Shihan and was appointed by him to be the Canadian Aikido Federation contact with Osawa Shihan.
Yumi Nakamura-sensei is currently the chair of the Canadian Aikido Federation Examination Committee. She started Aikido in Osaka, Japan nearly 45 years ago under Bansen Tanaka-shihan, a leading student of O-sensei, and Kawahara-shihan. She continued training under Kawahara-shihan in Canada. Following Kawahara-shihan’s wishes, she has been following Osawa-shihan’s teachings after Kawahara-shihan passed away.
They will share both Osawa Shihan’s techniques and some of their own Aikido techniques at the seminar.
The Saskatoon Aikido dojo collects extra fees through the year to subsidizes the cost of these exceptional teachers, so that all students have an opportunity to learn. Make time to join us for the full seminar or a part of the weekend. You will not be disappointed.
